Performed, March 2020

RPS is one of the best bar shows I have performed at. While the back space they let you use as a dressing room is small, the staff here are so nice and friendly and the place attracts a really chill and respectful crowd.

Performer, Show Stage Manager, 2020

Dope AF. Crazy professional, super accommodating, very queer and SW friendly. Great stage and dressing room spaces. Has NA drink options and gender neutral bathrooms.

Jan 2020

The short of it: Tipsy Space / Naomi Levine did not pay us. Everything below is documented on email.

  • Tipsy Space / Naomi Levine returned a signed contract to us on January 24. Per the contract, the $350 deposit was due Jan. 23 and the full amount was to have been paid after the performance on Jan. 29.
  • On Jan. 24 she said she was mailing the check for “the full amount.” (Yes, this was already slightly late for the deposit.)
  • On Jan. 29 our group provided the services requested, exactly as defined in the contract. She said “we are mailing your check.” (This was the perfect storm: I was out of the country and we had worked with her before, so I had believed her when she said she mailed us the check on Jan. 24.)
  • On Jan. 31 she wrote “it [the event] was great. your check should be there soon.” “It was great look forward to more.” And forwarded me a Yelp review praising our services.
  • On Feb. 2 she wrote “yes you should have [received the check] I sent Joe this email to see where it is.” On Feb. 11 she wrote “I am so so sorry- DO you have any way you can pick up Monday?”
  • On Feb. 14 she wrote “I am so sorry worked 38 hours straight / we are sending another.”
  • On Feb. 23 she sent me an email (subject “Check arrival?”) with “Did it come?”
  • On March 6 she said, “We have some issues with the amount charged and believe that we were overcharged would you settle for 50 percent?”
  • It is now March 15 and we still have not been paid. I am discussing next steps with our lawyer.
